back to work
Things are starting to get busy. Planning ahead to rehearsals for the new show and gigs through the summer. Finalizing art work and photos etc.
I haven't had a new album out for a long time and getting it all set up is a part of what I really enjoy. I released my first major label recording Shakespearean Fish at this same time of year in. . . . . 1996 . I didn't know a lot about what was going on then. I knew music. That's what I thought was my job. Turns out, it was for the most part but having the confidence to take on everything else as well, is a pretty great feeling now. Also, the major label mentality has been broken down and creative thinking rules. Makes it pretty fun to be making good music these days.

Oh I hope I didn't get this wrong... I was at the Huron Carol in 1996 or 97 when you were there and I am 90% positive you performed a song I am trying to find. It was a quieter song that I THINK you dedicated to your man. I seem to remember you saying it wasnt on any album at that time but I thought it was truly beautiful. I know this is going back a long time but the song is still in my heart and I would love to find it/hear it again. Was it you? Can you remember it?

hey Jenny,
I'm pretty sure it's Never Doubt I Love. . .that you're thinking of.
I sang that song on the Huron Carol tour many years ago now.
You can find that song on my live album. Melvin Live. . .or the original recording on Shakespearean Fish. I actually prefer the live version but. . .that's just me.
My husband Ted Dykstra wrote that song and it has since been recorded by many amazing artists.
Hoep this helps .
